Coronary Prevention and Assessment Clinic/Blood Pressure Clinic
For advice on preventing heart disease.
Specialised Clinics
Blood Pressure Clinic
Patients who are on medication to reduce their blood pressure are encouraged to attend every six months for a check-up.
Respiratory and COPD Clinic
Patients with asthma and COPD are encouraged to attend for annual checks and medication reviews.
Diabetic Clinic
Diabetic patients are invited to attend 6 monthly for a check-up.
Healthy Heart Clinic
Patients with existing heart disease are invited for an annual review.
Leg Ulcer Clinic
For the assessment and management of chronic leg ulcers.

The Surgery offers a number of referral options for patients who would like to shed a few pounds:
Exercise on Referral
(also known as Passport to Health) entitles you to discounts on a variety of activities such as gym sessions, swimming & exercise classes, as well as motivational sessions and support for fitness and weight loss. If you are overweight and have a range of medical conditions and feel you may benefit from increasing your activity please call the surgery on 01225 428277 and make a telephone appointment with Sister Sharon Burge to discuss referral. Slimming on referral entitles you to 12 weeks worth of vouchers to attend either Slimming World or Weightwatchers.
In order to qualify you must have a BMI greater than 30. Please book an appointment to see our Health care assistant or nurses to discuss.
Counterweight: Counterweight is aimed at helping you change all aspects of your lifestyle (such as diet, exercise and attitudes to food) in order to facilitate weight loss. Suitable for patients with a BMI >30 or >28 with an obesity related disease. Please see your Healthcare Assistant, Practice Nurse or GP for referral to our Counterweight Advisor, Sharon Burge.
Child Health Clinics
Southdown Clinic (in the Methodist Church), The Hollow, Whiteway
From 15.5.12 clinics will be held on a Tuesday afternoon 2.00pm - 3.30pm
Twerton Clinic at First Steps Nursery, Wedgewood Road, Twerton
Thursday 10.30am to 12 midday
Baby Massage
Baby massage courses are offered via the Health Visiting Team and run alongside the Child Health Clinics at Twerton and Southdown.
Family Planning Clinic
A weekly clinic for women on the contraceptive pill or injection and for anyone wanting advice on contraception or safer sex. Health advice to couples planning to start a family is available.
